The Nine Muses
The nine Muses that have been recognized in Greek mythology are Clio, Melpomene, Euterpe, Thalia, Terpsichore, Erato, Polymnia, Urania, and Calliope. Their father was Zeus, who was regarded as the king of the gods. Their mother, Mnemosyne, was a Titan. Born of Ouranos, Mnemosyne was a goddess of time, memory, language, and words.
